AURA Summer Student Jobs
AURA is a Canadian charitable organization assisting in the sponsorship and resettlement of refugees. We represent the Anglican Diocese of Toronto and support the Toronto Conference of the United Church of Canada as a Sponsorship Agreement Holder with Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Refugees are the beneficiaries of AURA’s efforts.

AURA is currently looking to fill two summer student positions. We are looking for dynamic students interested in working for ten weeks in the non-profit sector. This is an excellent opportunity for any post-secondary student looking to learn and grow with an agency that works with Canadians actively helping refugees.

Summer Student responsibilities may include:
Answering phones, forwarding calls, and taking messages
Drafting and proofreading office correspondence
Data entry and database management
Co-ordinating with the management team for office and fundraising events
Maintaining and updating client files
Referring clients to appropriate settlement services
Performing other administrative duties as assigned.

Education:
In order to apply you MUST be a University or Community College student starting/returning to school in September. These positions are best suited for students in the following fields of study: business administration, office administration, social work, social service work, and non-profit management.

Desirable attributes and skills:
Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn
Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work in both small teams and individually
Strong computer skills (Microsoft office)

Time commitment required:
Each student position is for ten weeks and for 35 hours per week.
