AURA changed my life, and in the last decade has helped me change many other lives as a result.

I first met AURA in September 2015 at a sponsorship education session led by the inspirational Ian McBride (former Executive Director of AURA). Since that time I chaired a BVOR sponsorship group, assisted with a second sponsorship of family reunification, and have been involved and advised other groups on many other sponsorships. I have also joined the AURA Board to give back to AURA. Throughout the decade I have met hundreds of compassionate Canadians who share the same ideals of caring for our neighbour and have positively reacted to the ugliness of the world persecutions and unspeakable horrors. As a result, I have witnessed many new Canadian families grow into caring Canadians, becoming close friends and giving back to Canada themselves by fundraising thousands of dollars for AURA in the Annual Ride/Walk.
