I have known about AURA for over 20 years.

Our church (then St. Simon-the-Apostle) sponsored a refugee family of five from Iraq. I was a member of the sponsorship committee. The three young girls (then 6 and 7) are now all university graduates with good jobs and active members of the Canadian community. I have been a donator to AURA for several years. When I retired two years ago, I wanted to find a way to contribute to the community. AURA was looking for new Board members then; I applied and was accepted. I have been amazed at the dedication of staff, volunteers and Board members as I have seen from inside the activities of AURA. I am honoured to be a part of the team!
